Determinants of postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder

Introduction Post-traumatic stress disorder, following of a particular intensity, is often related to the perception childbirth as traumatic event requiring optimization follow-up and interest early detection. Objectives To determine factors associated with post-traumatic disorder childbirth. Methods This longitudinal prospective analytical study carried out in obstetrics gynecology department Tahar Sfar Mahdia hospital. The population was women who gave birth during period from March 15, 2020 September 2020. We used pre-established questionnaire including sociodemographic clinical characteristics well psychometric part containing psychiatric scale for screening disorder. Results Our sample included 120 women. average age 28.2±5.3.Five participants (4.2%) had history . Thirty-five patients (29.1%) pathological obstetric history. However, fifteen (12.5%) were hospitalized their pregnancies. Psychometric assessment revealed prevalence PTSD at 5.8% symptomatology 18.4% Twenty-two (18.3%) described painful traumatic. frequency higher abortion (6.9%) Postpartum statistically low level education (p=0.02), postpartum complications (p=0.05) sex newborn (p=0.01) Conclusions detection posttraumatic seems be essential comprehensive multidisciplinary management risk.
